FOR RURAL AND REGIONAL COUNSELLORS AND THERAPISTS

Supporting your practice with understanding, expertise, and genuine care

I recognise that the challenges you face as a rural counsellor are unique - from limited referral pathways and professional isolation to the complex ethical situations that arise in small communities. As an ACA Approved Supervisor, I provide professional supervision that meets your registration requirements while truly understanding your rural context. You don’t have to navigate these challenges alone.

The Reality of Rural and Regional Practice

Working as a counsellor in rural and regional areas or integrating diverse modalities into your practice, comes with distinct challenges. You might be working in isolation, dealing with dual-relationships, limited resources, or the complexity of being the primary counselling support in your area. Finding quality supervision that truly understands your context and appreciates diverse therapeutic approaches can feel impossible. I’ve been there, and I get it.

MY STORY

MY STORY

Having practiced in rural Queensland for over a decade, I’ve navigated the complexities of small-town counselling firsthand. I understand what it’s like when your client’s family member works at the local shop, when the nearest specialist is hundreds of kilometers away, or when you’re carrying cases that feel beyond your scope with nowhere to turn.

Through my own journey integrating kinesiology and aromatherapy with traditional counselling, I’ve learned that while talk therapy is incredibly effective, there are many other approaches and modalities that support people to process their challenges on multiple levels. This experience has given me a deep appreciation for diverse therapeutic approaches and the courage to think outside the box when traditional methods aren’t enough.

Having navigated private practice, I’ve learned not just to survive those challenges, but to thrive while maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards.
